Who We Are
Learning through Education and Application by Partnership (LEAP) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to creating equality of educational STEM opportunities for the youth of the Greater San Antonio Area.
We serve San Antonio, New Braunfels, Cibolo, Converse, Schertz, Seguin, Timberwood Park, Boerne, Canyon Lake, Leon Valley, Live Oak, Pleasanton, Selma, Universal City, Alamo Heights, Bulverde, Fair Oaks Ranch, Floresville, Helotes, Hondo, Kirby, Lackland AFB, Randolph AFB, Lakehills, Terrell Hills, Windcrest and all other parts of Bexar County.
Learning through Education by Application and Partnership served more than 400 children through the 2019 – 2020 fiscal year. Of the participating youth, 100% are considered at risk and the population served is a diverse mix including majority black and Hispanic children.
Learning through Education by Application and Partnership’s mission is to uplift K-12 youth in underrepresented communities through making STEM experiences accessible independent of cost, location, and timing.
Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics opportunities are available to all equally and unequivocally.
These are the values that we not only look for in our board members and staff but hope to instill in all who go through our programs as well.
Compassion for the community
We make serving the children and families of our community the center of everything we do.
We seek to always identify new information, processes, and standards. When we identify something is not working, we quickly learn from our mistakes and figure out how to improve.
Uplifting our Origins
As we grow personally and professionally, we always return to the communities that made that growth possible and give back to them.
Regardless of race, gender, ability, age, or origin, we give every person the respect and dignity that we would want to be imparted onto us.
Diversity and Inclusiveness in Mind and Body
Not only do we seek to work with a diverse range of people but to think and act with inclusiveness in mind.
LEAP was founded by sisters with deep love for the community, duty to God, and great vision for the future. These two gathered several others who shared a passion for the community and together they made LEAP into a reality.
